Commercialization of Land and the Destruction of Safe Havens
Areas that have served as a “haven” for beekeepers because of their relatively unused land have become less sufficient for housing bees, due to change of land usage to become more commercial. Crops that beekeepers attempted to avoid when they first set up apiaries for honeybees are now being grown in nearby areas, affecting the available resources.
